Course description: This course covers following topics: 1. introduction, theory; 2. theory and exercises: central vowel: 3. theory and exercises: fricatives; 4.-5. theory and exercises: “Ich-Laut “and “Ach-Laut”; 6.-8. theory and exercises: plosives and final-obstruent devoicing; 9.-10. theory and exercises: nasal consonants and glottal stop; 11. theory and exercises: the sound „l“; 12.-13. theory and exercises: the sound „r“; 14. repetition; 15. exam preparation.

Learning outcomes: Students will be able to correctly pronounce elements of standard language including melody sentence and accent, apply phonetic theory and transcription and recognize existing gaps by means of contrastive analysis.

Teaching methods: teaching through seminars and exercises and teacher-led demonstrations in the classroom, presentations; classroom discussion; fieldwork
