Course description: This course covers some basic topics in general linguistics and selected issues in the linguistic description of the German language. Students will acquire basic theoretical competences and methods and principles of text interpretation and analysis.

Learning outcomes: Students will be able to analyse and interpret fundamental texts from the area of linguistics.
