Did you know?

Hieronymus is the Latin name of St. Jerome (c. 347 – 420), a Roman theologian and historian known for his translation of the Bible into Latin and for his translation commentaries.
Owing to his translations and his contribution to early translation scholarship, St. Jerome is considered to be the patron saint of translators, and the International Translation Day is celebrated on his feast day, September 30.
St. Jerome is believed to have been born in the Roman province of Dalmatia (part of today's Croatia), where the Croatian variants of his name - Jeronim, Jerko, Jere - remain popular to this day.
