| Students of Librarianship Club "Biblion" |
The Students of Librarianship Club has been founded in
the Room A119 at 2:00 pm on April 26th 1999 when the Founder
Committee
had met for the first time. During the first Committee meeting
TheStatute
by which the SLC has been named "Biblion" has uniformly been voted out.
All librarianship students, as well as other interested
students of the Faculty of Philosophy are being invited to take part in
work of the Club.
Take part in the Club with your ideas, little
or more working help. The Student's Club is an opportunity for us students
to hang around, get to know each other and to make our studying easier,
more interesting and more useful. Studying for the exams, job hunt, getting
ready for a future profession - are all our problems. Did you know that
you can start building your career as an information specialist today?
Do you know how to find a good job in our branch of work?
For any information or a suggestion, please contact Mihaela
or Martina

Activities of the Club |
Next SLC "BIBLION" meeting will be held on 13.12.1999.
u 16:30. The meeting point is as usually, in front of
the Library. Unfortunately, we still do not own our own rooms for our meetings.
All Club members are asked to be regular on the meetings, because that
is the only way we can act seriously!
Under the Regular Activities of the Club we put all those things that
nobody else will do in our place. These include the organization of field
trips and visits to significant Croatian libraries, organization of public
discussion groups where some of major experts in our field, not necessarily
the professors teaching at the Faculty of Philosophy, would be taking active
part.
The first of such public discussion groups planed will be on the subject
of print and publishing in Croatia. Students will be informed in time about
the place and time of this public discussion group.
Attention!!!
Books connected with the librarianship will soon
be sold under the symbolic payments. These books, which are all the obligatory
literature at the University, have been given away to us and all the money
collected will be held for the activities organized by the Club. One of
these activities includes the field trip to Krakow on BOBCATSSS as well
as for some other activities of the Club.

Librarianship students have introduced their Vision of the Library
at the Faculty of Philosophy. With this paper, the students
have wanted to express their need for the changes in the present work of
libraries of different departments at the Faculty of Philosophy. They've
given some objections but also their ideas which could, as they
believe, help students to satisfy their need for books and information
in the most efficient way possible. The most important conclusion of this
paper is that librarianship students themselves can be of a big help in
achieving the goals from their Vision, and at the same time
through this they would acquire the best practice and preparations for
the future work in any of Croatian's libraries.

to read for your exams and who had influenced your thoughts about our profession.
