C O M P E T I T I O N

for application to

UNIVERSITY'S POSTGRADUATE DOCTORAL STUDY OF SOCIOLOGY

for the academic year of 2010./2011.

Requirements and criteria for enrolment in the study:

  • completed University’s graduate or undergraduate study of sociology with the grade point average of at least 4,0 or with the grade point average of 3,0 and higher provided that they published at least one (1) scientific paper,
  • completed University’s graduate or undergraduate study in the field related to the field of sociology (humanities, social sciences, biomedical or other disciplines) with the grade point average of the study of at least 4,0 provided that they published at least one (1) scientific paper that demonstrates the candidate’s ability to analyse the social phenomena, and passed the differential exams.
  • for the students who have according to the former programme before 2005 received the Master’s degree in science, the Postgraduate Study Committee will decide about recognizing a part of the study and approving the enrolment accordingly.

Time of the study: 6 semesters (3 years).
Participation in the study requires fluency in English language.
Places available: 25
Fees per semester: 10.450,00 kunas.

Obligatory documentation:

  • written application for the competition for the study,
  • certified copy of the diploma or the decision concerning the recognition of foreign diploma (the diploma of undergraduate studies according to the former programme before 2005 is equal to the diploma of graduate studies),
  • confirmation of passed exams during the study with calculated grade point average,
  • short CV,
  • presented research interest (around 1800 characters),
  • copy of published papers and summaries of reports,
  • copy of the certificate of nationality or equivalent document for foreigners.

Applications of candidates with the documentation that shows that they fulfil the requirements should be brought to

In the case of insufficient number of candidates who apply to the study, the Faculty reserves the right not to open the study for this academic year.
