Petra Požgaj, Assistant (Section for Literary and Cultural Theory)

Petra Požgaj was born on 28 September 1994 in Varaždin, Croatia. In 2019, after earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Comparative Literature and English at the University of Zagreb, she became a PhD candidate at the same university, attending the Doctoral Study Programme in Literature, Theatre and Performing Arts, Film, Musicology and Culture. She is currently working on a thesis focused on popular youth magazines published in Croatia from the mid-1950s to the mid-1970s. During her time as a student at the Department of Comparative Literature, she was a member of the editorial board of k.: A Student Journal of Literary and Cultural Theory. In the course of her graduate studies, she stayed at the University of Ljubljana (2017) and the University of Vienna (2021). In 2021, she joined the Department of Comparative Literature as an assistant.
