Dariya Pavlešen (Sokolovska) was born in 1980 in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. She graduated
from the Faculty of Philology, Ivan Franko University, Lviv in 2002 and the Faculty of
Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb in 2003, having majored in Ukrainian Language
and Literature and Russian Language and Literature. In 2020 she defended her PhD thesis on
the Ukrainian postmodernism literature. From 2003 to 2005 she worked as an external associate for Ukrainian language with the Department of East Slavic languages and literatures, and since 2005 works as a lecturer with the same Department.
