About the conference
International Conference First, second, other language: Croatian–Macedonian comparisons deals with an important, but still not sufficiently investigated fields in the two societies, such as: the acquisition of Croatian and Macedonian as a first, second, heritage and other language; language in educational system; linguistic features of ethnic communities in Croatia and Macedonia; Croatian and Macedonian language abroad; terminology and proficiency testing of both languages.
Research teams’ collaboration from both countries, as well as research of the related languages in diverse sociolinguistic environments will give a new insight into these current topics of the European language policy. The program will be announced by April 15, 2010.

Call for Proposals
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb and the Faculty of Philology in Skopje under the patronage of the National Foundation for Science, Higher Education and Technology of the Republic of Croatia is organizing the International Meeting/Conference for Collaboration First, Second, Other Language: Croatian-Macedonian Comparisons which will be held from May 14th and 15th, 2010 in Skopje, Macedonia.
