Ana Vasung was born in 1982 in Zagreb. She graduated from the Department of South Slavic languages and literatures and the Art History Department at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. Since 2008 she has been employed as a junior researcher and teaching assistant on the project Literary, Language, and Cultural Aspects of Croatian and Macedonian Relations (project leader being Professor Borislav Pavlovski). She teaches in BA courses on Bulgarian language and culture offered by the Chair of Bulgarian language and literature, as well as in MA courses on translation and South Slavic languages phraseology. She in enrolled in the postgraduate studies of linguistics at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, working on a doctoral thesis under a double supervision by Professor Željka Fink-Arsovski and Emilija Nedkova from the University in Ruse, Bulgaria. She is a collaborator on a one-year project Animalistic Idioms in Slavic Languages (project leader being Associate Professor Ivana Vidović Bolt). She has taken part in a conferences in Croatia and abroad, and she has been hosted for a study research on more than one occasion by Bulgarian universities (in Sofia and Plovdiv).
