Dubravka Bogutovac was born on April 24th 1981. After graduating from the General High School in Županja, she enrolled in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, with a major in Croatian and two minors in Serbian and Bulgarian languages and literature, graduating in 2007. She was employed as an assistant at the Department of South Slavic languages and literatures at her home institution in the academic year 2009/10. She is a teaching assistant (seminars) on the following courses in Serbian literature offered by the Chair for Serbian and Montenegrin literature: Introduction to the study of Serbian language; Serbian 19th-century poetry, Serbian 19th-century short story, Serbian drama. In the academic year 2008/09 she enrolled in the Postgraduate and Doctoral Study of Literature, Performing Arts, Film and Culture at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. At the moment, she has passed all of her exams and she is writing her doctoral thesis with a theme in Serbian literature. During her postgraduate studies, she did research in Belgrade and Novi Sad. She publishes both literary and scholarly reviews and essays at the Third programme of Croatian radio, as well as in literary journals such as the Književna republika, the Quorum, the Zarez, etc.
